Marion E. “Bud” Shore, CPA/PFS, MBA – Co-Owner
Bud is co-owner of Shoreline Asset Management, and affiliated accounting firm Shore & Company, PC. Among the first 1,200 accountants in the country to achieve a combined CPA/PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) designation, Bud was an early champion of combining best practices in finance and accounting to help individuals reach their most important personal and professional goals. Bud founded Shoreline Asset Management in 1998 as a Registered Investment Advisor and wealth management firm.
In his community and his career, Bud is an avid regional leader and benefactor. He is currently serving or has served on numerous local and regional boards and committees for organizations including Citizen State Bank, Earlham College (trustees and foundation boards), Henry County Foundation, Henry County Hospital, New Castle Henry County Public Library (during its building campaign), United Way, the YMCA and his church. He is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He and Jay were founding members of Bright Sky Group, whose members were instrumental in forming the BAM ALLIANCE, a community of investors and advisors who have discovered a better way to take control of financial futures and achieve life’s most important goals. As a firm, Shoreline contributes financially to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Henry County.
Bud holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Ball State University, and has held his CPA designation since 1979. He is a proud, Central Indiana native - a fourth-generation Hoosier. Bud and his wife Linda have been married since 1977, and have a grown-up daughter who carries on the Hoosier tradition, living in Fishers, Indiana. In his free time, Bud enjoys golf, reading, church activities (including singing in the choir with Linda) and family outings.
Jay Bumbalough, CPA/PFS – Co-Owner
Jay is co-owner of Shoreline Asset Management, and affiliated accounting firm Shore & Company, PC, with a 25+ year background in public accounting and business development. After gaining corporate experience at one of the country’s largest accounting firms, and business development savvy within a small, family-owned company, Jay serves as our accounting firms’ director of business consulting services. At Shoreline, he specializes in assisting business owners and other professionals with acquisition, management and succession planning as well as developing effective, compliant 401(k) plans. He also helps individuals manage their personal wealth according to their long-term goals.
Jay holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ball State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) designation, and a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His personal interests include church and sporting activities, particularly mentoring area youth in baseball, basketball and other sports. Jay was an elite cyclist in the 1990s, qualifying to compete in the 1996 Olympic trials as an elite cyclist. Jay now uses his past cycling experience as he participates in triathlons. He and his wife Rhonda also are kept plenty busy raising their daughter and two sons.
Tim Woodward, CFP® - Chief Compliance Officer
Tim is the Chief Compliance Officer of Shoreline Asset Management, LLC. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and joined the industry in 2012 following a successful “first” career in engineering. Tim is a number-cruncher to the core. He believes an objective, quantitative approach to investment management is the key to helping people understand how even small decisions can impact financial outcomes. He helps simplify financial decision-making by letting the data do the talking and by applying his engineering brain to interpret numbers and translate what they’re saying into plain, simple, English.
In addition to managing client relationships, Tim is also responsible for helping oversee the firm’s compliance, operations, investment and technology functions. Tim constantly works to improve and streamline our back-office operations so the entire team can focus less on what’s happening behind the scenes and more on helping our clients.
Tim holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA from University of Michigan. When he’s not busy working hard for clients or the firm he loves spending time with his family and competing at CrossFit.
Vicki J. Kelsey, CSEP – Investment Advisor
Vicki is an Investment Advisor Representative for Shoreline and also serves as director of estate and trust planning services for our affiliated accounting firms. She is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning (CSEP) specializing in helping clients realize maximum tax savings and wealth preservation. Together with co-founders Bud Shore and Jay Bumbalough, Vicki and the Shoreline team provide clients with an encompassing, goals-based approach to managing their investments, risk management, business affairs, charitable intentions and estate planning. As a widow herself, Vicki also specializes in assisting individuals facing similar difficult life transitions.
Vicki holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University. Her personal interests include gardening and home decorating, traveling, golf, and spending time with her two children and granddaughter.
Brenda K. Baier, CFP® - Investment Advisor
Brenda is an Investment Advisor Representative for Shoreline Asset Management, LLC. She is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and has spent more than 17 years advising dentists and small business owners on strategies to maximize their wealth creation and achieve their personal and professional goals and objectives. In addition to providing comprehensive personal financial planning services, she has supported clients as they make decisions about tax-deductible savings strategies for their businesses, growing and equipping their practices, adding associates, investing in office real estate, and ultimately transitioning their practices at retirement.
Brenda holds a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in finance from Ball State University. Brenda enjoys spending time with her husband Scott and their son, camping, riding bicycles, cooking, gardening, and traveling.
Joshua D. Brumbaugh - Investment Advisor
Josh is an Investment Advisor Representative for Shoreline Asset Management, LLC. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds his Series 65 securities license. Josh has over 15 years of experience in public and corporate accounting. Josh works with the rest of the Shoreline team to provide clients with a holistic goals-based approach to wealth management by implementing an evidence-based investment strategy with tax planning strategies to enhance and protect their wealth.
Josh holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and a Masters of Professional Accountancy from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He has held his CPA designation since 2004. Josh is from Huntington, IN but currently resides in Fishers, IN. He and his wife Meggan are proud parents to two daughters and a son. His personal interests include attending church, spending time with his family, hunting and fishing, and watching various sporting activities.
MARK E. LUX, ChFC - INVESTMENT ADVISOR
Mark is an Investment Advisor Representative of Shoreline Asset Management, LLC. Mark obtained his Series 65 Securities License in 2005. Prior to, and since then, he has provided clients with financial products and insurance advice since 1979. He started in the financial services field in 1979 after graduating from Western Michigan University with a BS degree in Public Administration. In 1985 he obtained his CLU designation from the American College and added the Chartered Financial when we began operations in 1998.
Tina Conyers – Client Service Representative
Tina is our Client Service Representative eager to provide friendly and professional service to our Shoreline clients. Tina joined Shoreline in 2017 after serving the banking industry for 7 years.
Tina enjoys spending time wth her husband and two children. Her personal interests include antique shopping, cooking, playing cards, traveling and church activities.
